We left Glenworth Valley behind, chasing a little sunshine along the NSW coast… but Newcastle had other plans 🌧😅! This week took us to Congo Campground in NSW in search of coastal tranquility, but it didn't all go to plan as we juggled caravan school stress and some power issues. Our camp base gave us the opportunity to explore Narooma - and who doesn't like a day trip to the cemetery? ha Getting Kate into the waters of Mystery Bay proved a handful and we got the Ranger dirty at Bogola Head. This video is easily the most raw and real you’ll see us during our lap of Australia and we had an absolute blast. Nestled beside the Tumult River and surrounded by rolling hills, this unforgettable free camp offered peaceful water views, natures TV 🔥 and finally - a chance to slow down as a family. Wilsons Prom to South Gippsland - It’s Aus Lap Episode 23! In this video, we head deep into the Great Otway National Park for a few days of travel and exploration. Our coastal camp provided a great base to explore The Great Otways - forest tracks, waterfall, tree top walk and a surprise glow worm trail. We camped at the quiet and spacious Princetown Recreation Reserve, wandered through the magical glow worm trails at Melba Gully, walked high above the forest floor at the Otway Fly Treetop Walk, and stopped to soak in the views at Castle Cove. One of the highlights was visiting Cape Otway Lightstation, Australia’s oldest surviving lighthouse, followed by a scenic 4x4 drive through the forest to Apollo Bay. We also did the stunning forest walk to Triplet Falls, which was flowing beautifully. There was no big plan — just us letting the Otways show us its beauty. We were a bit shocked at prices to camp near the Great Ocean Road in Victoria - with many places charging over $100 a night (unpowered and no water!). Luckily, we found a couple of quiet and affordable camps that have it all - peaceful, quiet and importantly close to the 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, the 12 Apostles Food Artisans Trail - along with other must see attractions.
